Bryce Mat Tutorial 6

If you are in the same screen by the time I put this one up, we want to clear this screen off and start with a fresh palette. So go down to the bottom of the screen and click the X or 'cross' depending on what part of the hemisphere you live on.

First screen:

We are back in mat maker. I have clicked on the very first button we used before, just to bring up another basic material - again, yours will look different than mine. I have circled where you need to go in the second screen.

Second Screen:

Once you click on that down arrow, Move your mouse to the first menu which is 'Basic' and you should see a long column of basic materials. I will show you where these little beauties live in a later tutorial. Just pick any one of them by moving your mouse over one of the file names, and letting go of the mouse. Then your mat will change in the window. I will have a lot of files in mine because I have been collecting and making mats for a few years.

Third Screen:

I have chosen 'jewel rock', but to me it is pretty uninteresting. But because it is only a basic material to start myself off with, I can't expect much.

Fourth Screen:

What I did to change this uninteresting material was do what we did in one of the other tuts, click on all of the dots of the A column, and move the value sliders to 50 instead of 100. If you don't feel like moving sliders, what you can do is just click on the numbers themselves and type them in. I could have made this material more solid, but this is just to give you an idea on how play with numbers at the same time as the values of the mats.
